Classic metroidvania

Robot Wants PuppyIndependent web remaster

Team up with Kitty, master new abilities, and reach Puppy in Mike Hommel's classic metroidvania.

Created by Mike Hommel of Hamumu Games in 2010. This is an independent web remaster.

The adventure

Team up.
Power up. Reach Puppy.

Robot and Kitty are back in a new interconnected world. Kitty is more than a companion this time: throw her at enemies, call her home, and use the abilities you discover together to cross rooms that once seemed impossible.

The route to Puppy leads through access gates, hostile machines, hazardous passages, and two powerful bosses. Each upgrade changes how the map can be explored—and brings Robot one step closer to the next rescue.

Robot Wants Puppy controls and tips

What are the keyboard controls?

Use Left and Right to move, Up, Z, or Y to jump, Down to duck, X for Kitty’s action, and P to pause. Kitty’s available actions change as you collect abilities.

How is Puppy different from Kitty?

In Robot Wants Kitty, Kitty is the rescue goal. Here she is your companion: throw her at enemies and use upgrades such as Helikitty, Tailnado, and Ceiling Cat to reach new routes. Puppy is the new goal.

How do I get Kitty back?

Catch Kitty on her return after throwing her. Once you have found the whistle, you can also call her back. Keep track of where she lands before moving into the next chamber.

What should I play after Puppy?

Robot Wants Fishy is the next published adventure. It trades Kitty-powered tools for bombs, underwater harpoons, and another set of movement upgrades.

The web remaster

A 2010 classic,
preserved for the web.

The original Robot Wants Puppy was created by Mike Hommel and released by Hamumu Games in 2010. This independent edition recreates it from surviving game evidence while preserving its interconnected world, Kitty-powered progression, and pixel-art identity.

The web remaster keeps the original keyboard-driven adventure and adds an online leaderboard for completed runs.
